Greetings everyone! I trust that you are having a fantastic summer. While it goes too fast it's nice to know that we can slow down and relax a bit at Port Edward.
In fact, this weekend you'll have the opportunity to enjoy some really great live music. Friday night in the Salem Lounge 7-11PM we again welcome Jeff Trudell. If you haven't yet seen Jeff, do stop in for a real musical treat. Jeff has a lot of range in both material and performance styling. Got to say he's a new Port Edward favorite.
Saturday - after your 12oz. Creekstone Slow Roasted Prime Rib Dinner for only $19.95 - Rob Neumeyer is back in the lounge from 7-11PM. He's a very busy and popular local entertainer. You may have seen him at The Village Squire, Penny Road Pub, Olive Black Lounge, or any number of area venues. We're pleased to feature him often at Port Edward and you'll know why when you spend the evening with Rob and his music.
Sunday PortSide is a great young Crystal Lake band, Broken Arrow. Swing by between 2-6 PM to enjoy them under the lovely summer skies. And, yes! you may enjoy your Friday or Sunday buffet PortSide.
Please do while the sun is smiling!
That fresh ocean side sent that romances your nostrils when you come into the Port is the result of a top to bottom,
Figurehead (bow) to stern, scrubbing of the whole Port Edward interior. Take a look around next visit. The stones on the inside facades have been restored to their original beauty (by the way did you know that Edward carried and stacked nearly every stone in the walls) and we even did a little scrubbing on the old planks .. not too much as we want them to retain their character. Speaking of Figureheads, the statues that were carved to decorate the bow of ships, well at Port Edward .. likely the oldest treasure here .. is a Figure head from the 1600's .. see if you can find it. I'm betting that you walk by it every time you are here and don't notice it. Speaking of cleaning and fixing things up, Ed and the crew have been busy this summer bringing the A/C up to snuff (as we used to say) .. you can well imagine that it takes a lot of chill to keep the 400 or so people comfortable here. You'll notice the improvement right away so if you are a little chill sensitive it's ok to bring a sweater.. just in case.
Bethel and Joy enjoy Doggie Dine out last night
Tuesdays are more fun than usual this summer thanks to Doggie Dine Out. Every Tuesday PortSide we're welcoming dogs and their guests for treats on the dock. A special bonus is that a portion of the profits benefit dog rescue and support groups! So come and bring your best friend.
And on Tuesdays enjoy the terrific Cape Cod Clambake - A fantastically delicious platter of mouth watering treats... starting with fresh Maine Lobster, clams, mussels, sausage, red potatoes, corn on the cob, drawn dipping butter, cole slaw, and, as if that weren't enough, Key Lime Pie!
All for only $19.95.
As long as we are on the subject of FOOD let's hear it for one of our favorites - The Tuna Appetizer. Delicious! and very popular. Sometimes it is lunch. It, at all times, is a total treat. Good with wine or cocktail and good conversation. Allow me to tempt you with a very small photo.

Visit www.PortEdward.com - Click on the Calendar for the latest schedule of what is going on with entertainment. Of course there are daily specials you can review on the Menu page. (Check out the new format for Dinner Menu.) The wine list was recently updated if you care to take a look at that. And there are coupons for you at www.PortEdSpecials.com - $5 off for every person in your party at the Friday night buffet .. and more.
So I'm outta' here for the week. I know it's only Wednesday but some mid-weeks a person needs a break (and a great Prime Rib for $19.95) so Anne and I are heading out for just a little break. We have more work to do but the evening is young and the day is so perfect. What's not to toast. See you there in a few... Enjoy your week and weekend.
For a lovely stay over weekend in Algonquin check out the Victorian Rose Garden Bed and Breakfast. A beautiful home just a few steps from Port Edward.
In Peace.. Bob Sandidge for Ed, Karen, Lee Ann and your entire Port Edward Crew.Bob@PortEdSpecials.com
